it is sunday am. we had a good flight. the group cleared customs quickly and got to our hotel room by 8:30pm then crashed. i am rooming with sara.
the hotel here is 1st class, with a pc for use, tv, coffee pot and westernized bathroom, including shower and seperate tub. i will have to post pictures. the hotel looks at a lovely pool and tea garden style setting. the weather is to be 90F today. it was raining and humid last night when we arrived.
the mattress is wonderful - very very very hard. my style though.
on the flight i watched one of the 4 movies, talked a lot to people in the group, ate one of three meals. slept maybe about an 1hr. saw mt fuji in flight. tried to take a picture out of the cabin window. hope it works. the airline seats were very very tight quarters. no leg room to speak of and my seat had been "sat-out" like a well worn booth at an old cafe.
i stood up probably 6 hours of the flight.
the group cleared customs just fine, my case was already on the carasouel when i got there, and off to the resturant. the resturant was on the family style lazy susan server. like most large chinese resturants in teh SF. excellent food. our guide for shanghai is great and giving us good tourist need to know information, e.g. do not drink any tap water period. not to brush teeth....and about beggars and pick pockets. we are going to the major tourist sites so we of course will be obvious targets.
i think just being aware will work. no different probably than in rome at the coloseum.
