Today we had our first taste of virtual classroom.  All in all it went pretty well.  In the 20 months of our MBA program the virtual part of our classroom went through it's growing pains.  Today we got off to a bumpy start and then finished strong.

Mark gave us a few more travel tips, with not sleeping until we reach Shanghai being the one that most of us will remember.  If my math is correct we will be getting into Shanghai at 2:25am San Francisco time.  This is 12hr 59min and 6,151 miles later.  We land in Shanghai 5:25pm local time.  By the time we hit the hotel I imagine I'll be ready to stretch out and catch some z's.

I posted a link to a couple of items from todays discussions.  The first being a list of items you cannot bring into China.  It will be interesting to see how our computers will be treated.  "No printed, audio, video, computerized and other materials which are harmful to China's political, economic, cultural and ethnic life" are allowed to be taken into China.  The second link is to a presentation called "Shift Happens."  This is where I got the stats on honor students in China vs America.  This one fact alone, "more honor students in China than students in America" was a real eye opener for me.  The original Powerpoint was created by an instructor by the name of Karl Fisch.

I have posted my version of what I heard Mark say today with regards to the journal and paper for this class.  It is as the bottom of the Assignments page.
